Behandling med mange medikamenter samtidig (polyfarmasi) øker risikoen for bivirkninger og sykehusinnleggelser blant eldre. Legemiddelgjennomgang kan bidra til å forebygge både under- og overbehandling, redusere risiko for bivirkninger og interaksjoner og dermed bedre behandlingen og livskvaliteten til eldre
pasienter.
