Rationale:
For every blood test performed on a healthy person, there is a 5% chance that the result will fall outside the reference range and may be interpreted as pathological. The more tests performed, the higher the risk of false-positive results, which can lead to unnecessary concern, further investigations, and, in the worst case, overtreatment.
