Rationale:
When imaging is needed for acute or chronic sinusitis, CT and MRI provide more detailed information and are less operator-dependent than sinus ultrasound. CT/MRI also allow for better follow-up assessments. For sinus surgery, CT/MRI images should be available in the operating room.
