Rationale:
The incidence of retinal detachment is increasing in Norway. The risk of retinal detachment is significantly elevated after lens surgery, especially in younger individuals, those with myopia, or those without posterior vitreous detachment. Individual risk factors for retinal detachment should be carefully considered when evaluating the indication for lens surgery.
