On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 35th annual meeting of the Nordic Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (NSCMID), I would like to welcome you to Reykjavik August 18th to August 22, 2018. The conference will be held in Harpa, Reykjavik´s spectacular new conference and concert hall, located by the harbor in downtown Reykjavik

On August 18, the day before the conference begins, Reykjavik Culture Night will take place; a vibrant annual event where tens of thousands of people attend numerous mini concerts, theaters, shows, shops, galleries and restaurants. In addition, the Reykjavik Marathon is held on that day, a popular event for runners and their friends and families.

The conference program is still preliminary, but we aim to put various issues in focus, including the centennial of the Spanish influenza, the current goal of elimination of hepatitis C, pneumococcal disease and community acquired pneumonia, new diagnostics, new insights to various diseases provided by new information on the human microbiome, infection control in the Nordic countries, new aspects on antimicrobial resistance testing, frontiers in fungal infections and many others.

Last but not least, the spectacular, unspoiled nature of Iceland will be there to welcome you. We are looking very much forward to seeing you at a cutting edge scientific meeting, the 35^th annual NSCMID in Reykjavik, 2018.

Due to the fact that Reykjavik Culture Night will take place on the same weekend as NSCMID, the PCO is unable to hold bulk reservations for the hotel rooms longer than to May 15.
We therefore kindly ask conference guests to register as soon as possible.
