The Masterclass by IFCN presentations were created in response to a call from IFCN members societies for more high quality, complimentary, online educational content. The series will provide a new presentation every month from top clinical neurophysiologists around the world, and each will include time for discussion with the lecturer following the presentation.
Providing the best in contemporary clinical neurophysiology education delivered in the most optimal format is the primary educational goal of the IFCN. As such, Masterclass by IFCN will be available complimentary to all registrants.
The Masterclass by IFCN presentation:
"Clinical Neurophysiology in Neuropathic Pain: the Example of Burning Mouth Syndrome" will take place on Saturday 19 March 2022 at 8:00 AM EDT / 1:00 PM CEST.
Professor Satu Jääskeläinen will present the topic.
This masterclass will give an overview on the use of clinical neurophysiology (CN), psychophysics, and neuropathology in the diagnosis of chronic pain. It will also offer a guideline for diagnostic work-up of neuropathic pain. Elucidation of burning mouth syndrome with several imaging methods guided by neurophysiology and psychophysics serves as an example of the scientific utility of systematic application of CN techniques in the study of an enigmatic clinical pain condition.
