Unngå tidlig avnavling av nyfødte.

Begrunnelse: 

For å sikre nyfødte en optimal start på livet utenfor livmoren gjennom transfusjon av fullblod og stamceller via navlesnoren, er sen avnavling anbefalt. WHO anbefaler en praksis å ikke avnavle
før det har gått minst 1 minutt, men helst vente lengre. «Wait for white», der det avventes med avnavling til pulsasjonen har opphørt og navelstrengen blitt hvit, er en håndterbar rettesnor å følge for alle klinikere når barnets tilstand aksepterer det. Intakt navlesnor er
også ønskelig under resuscitering og forholdene bør legges til rette for det.
