Introduction:
"In Victoria, Australia, governmental regulations prohibit physicians from self-prescribing. These regulations led Margaret Kay and colleagues to question recently whether legislation can reduce harm to physicians who prescribe for themselves. Their review reveals the lack of research on the effect of self-prescribing legislation on physicians' impairment. Kay also points out that physicians have access to drugs from various sources other than self-prescription."
