Begrunnelse:
For å skille en primær fra en sekundær hodepine anses en grundig anamnese og nevrologisk undersøkelse som de viktigste verktøy. Cerebral bildediagnostikk er ikke rutinemessig indisert og bør kun (og alltid) gjøres ved røde flagg og fokalnevrologiske utfall. Bildediagnostikk ved fravær av røde flagg øker risikoen for tilfeldige og ikke behandlingskrevende bifunn betydelig.
