In a study recently published in Journal of Medical Ethics the authors – Berit Bringedal, Karin Isaksson Rø, Morten Magelssen, Reidun Førde and Olaf Gjerløw Aasland – showes that viewing dilemmas as role conflicts can be a fruitful approach to the discussions about ethical dilemmas in professional practice.

Changes in prevalence of workplace violence against doctors

A repeated cross-sectional survey in all medical specialties in Norway between 1993 and 2014 shows that a substantial proportion of doctors experience threats and real acts of violence during their work-time career (Johansen IH, Baste V, Rosta J, Aasland OG, Morken T.
